The growth of the New North

The New North continues to hear positive announcements on major public and private investments, allowing the area to consistently grow at a strong and sustainable rate. This can only mean positive things for the community residing in Brookmont and its located suburb of Andrews Farm. We will take a look at a few of the investments going into the New North below.

Angle Vale super school
A new birth to Year 12 public school is set to be built on 14 hectares of land in Angle Vale, only five minutes down the road from Brookmont residents. The Angle Vale super school is set to complete for the 2022 schooling year, and will provide 1675 students with greater access to high quality schooling.

Munno Para West Bunnings
The recently completed $27.5 million Bunnings at Munno Para West has created around 180 jobs for local residents, and is increasingly doing well – with shoppers not needing to travel afar to Gawler or Paradise for their trade and home needs.

Northern Connector

The Northern Connector is a $885million six-lane motorway that is set to be completed later this year, providing a vital commuter and freight link from the North to the South, as well as across to Port Adelaide. The Northern Connector and Expressway will have significant economic benefits to improve traffic conditions for local residents as well as making roads safer by reducing freight traffic.

Edinburgh RAAF Airport upgrades

The multi-million dollar Air 7000 Phase 2B project recently upgraded facilities, infrastructure and airfield works to the Main Operating Base at Edinburgh, including creating new facilities and car parking, as well as adding an extension to the existing plane runways and expanding base logistics.

Playford Alive township expansion
The City of Playford have welcomed the ongoing development in Playford Alive. With Brookmont only a less than five-minute drive from the Playford Alive Town Centre, local residents will be able to enjoy all of these new facilities as they begin to roll through.

Lionsgate and Edinburgh Business Parks
With Edinburgh Business Park located only a ten minute drive away from Brookmont, and the recently opened Lionsgate Business Park (formerly the Holden Factory) offering 122 hectares of new commercial space, opportunities for new jobs to arise and the ability to work close to home are boundless.

Elizabeth City Centre Expansion
With the recent completion of the $7.3million six-storey carpark in the heart of Playford and the implementation of solar panels on top of the Elizabeth Shopping Centre, a $90million Ramada Hotel is set to start construction in October 2019, with facilities including a swimming pool, gym, restaurant and sports bar, along with meeting and conference spaces. The Ramada hotel will be the first in South Australia, with the international chain also owning 9,200 hotels across more than 80 countries.

Ongoing agricultural and winery development across Adelaide
Local and federal support for South Australia’s northern wine regions and agricultural development will continue in 2019 and beyond, with emphasis on improving the productivity of our wine and agricultural industry in line with the Government’s commitment to deliver on jobs and critical infrastructure.
